Өnergy is located on the campus of Nazarbayev University and was launched with the participation of the NU Impact Foundation.
Its uniqueness lies in bringing together science, technology, creative industries, and entrepreneurship. What usually exists separately is integrated here and transformed into real projects.
The hub is open to everyone — you can come, work, build teams, use the coworking space, and launch your own projects.
Inside the hub, there are 6 laboratories at the intersection of different fields: from digital art, film, and production to biodesign, music, and gastronomy.
To mark the opening, a multimedia installation by artist Ardak Mukanova was presented. This project, along with others, has been selected to represent the Republic of Kazakhstan at the 61st Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art (Biennale Arte).
At the Sound Lab, the project Cultural Legacy of the Steppe was presented in collaboration with Steinway & Sons and with the participation of Zhaniya Aubakirova. It is a recording of Kazakh piano music that will become part of a global library and be accessible worldwide.
This is about how an ecosystem is beginning to form in Kazakhstan where ideas can evolve into real products and reach the global stage.
