As a vital part of the Nazarbayev University ecosystem, the NU Impact Foundation facilitates the integration of Kazakhstani science into the economy, ensuring that research reaches industrial sectors, is implemented in practice, and scales effectively. The foundation was recently approached by the TURAN Kazakhstan Livestock Breeders Association—an organization dedicated to developing the industry, promoting advanced technologies, and strengthening export potential.
Recognizing that the agro-industrial complex is a high-potential sector for the synergy between science and real production, the NU Impact Foundation initiated a working meeting to bring together representatives from academia, industry, and international partners. The meeting featured key participants including Sayat Nyussupov, Chairman of the Board of the NU Impact Foundation; Zhanibek Kenzhebayev, Chairman of the Board of the TURAN Association; Marcel Fortuna Biato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Kazakhstan; and Niyaz Koshkimbayev, Managing Director of JSC “NMH Baiterek.”

The discussions centered on the application of biotechnologies and their potential for the agricultural sector, ranging from increasing productivity to implementing modern solutions in production processes, such as embryo technologies. The participation of Brazil—a global leader in livestock breeding—was of particular significance, as the meeting presented practical solutions and established a readiness for international cooperation.
The involvement of JSC “NMH Baiterek” demonstrated that such initiatives carry substantial practical value and possess the potential for further institutional support. Since the agro-industry directly impacts economic stability, food security, and regional development, the NU Impact Foundation continues to support the growth of solutions that bridge Nazarbayev University’s scientific expertise with the evolving needs of the industry.
