On September 13–14, Founders Weekend took place at Nazarbayev University — a two-day business intensive for scientists and innovators, supported by the NU Impact Foundation.
The event brought together 97 participants, featured 57 projects, and 21 teams presented their ideas on stage.
The winner was Ernar Kanagat (Researcher at the Renewable Energy Laboratory, NU) with the project DotScan Heavy Metal — an innovative sensor for rapid detection of toxic forms of chromium.
He received a grant to travel to the United States and participate in TechCrunch Disrupt 2025.
