Project description

Zhanar Kulzhanova, a graduate of Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business, presented the Kok Maisa project. Zhanar intends to raise eco-consciousness and eco-awareness, introduce the Zero Waste principle and instill eco habits among Kazakh-speaking schoolchildren in the capital. In this way, the children will collect solid waste separately and gain basic knowledge of the types of waste and how to sort and dispose of it correctly.

The target group includes pupils in years 5-7 in the state language of instruction. Ecological workshops will also be held in 10 Kazakh-speaking schools in Astana among students in grades 5-7 over a three-month period, reaching about 3,000 people. Zhanar is also concerned about animal protection. She therefore intends to donate funds to StopOtlov Volunteer movement for animal feed and to help families in need through the Nur-Alem Foundation.
