Project Manager – Analytics & Impact, Department of Social Projects

Job Description:

As a Project Manager (Analytics & Impact) at the Department of Social Projects, NU Impact Foundation, you will build the Foundation’s social impact measurement capability from the ground up – developing the methodology, analysing existing projects and designing the frameworks that will underpin our grant programmes and ecosystem partnerships going forward.

This role is about building, not maintaining: you will research methodologies, analyse the current project portfolio, propose and pilot measurement approaches, and gradually shape a system that makes the Foundation’s social value visible and credible. At the same time, you will contribute to developing the ecosystem partnerships that amplify our reach.

Responsibilities:

Researching and adapting social impact measurement methodologies (SROI, Theory of Change, outcome mapping) to the Foundation’s context and grant portfolio
Analysing existing and active projects to identify measurable outcomes, map stakeholder value and develop programme-level indicator frameworks
Designing and piloting data collection tools: surveys, monitoring templates, reporting formats for grantees and internal use
Preparing analytical outputs based on project data: summaries, impact narratives and evidence-based recommendations for programme development
Participating in the management of active projects within the portfolio: contributing to planning, coordination and implementation alongside the project team
Supporting grant monitoring: reviewing grantee reports, tracking KPI fulfilment and flagging gaps or risks
Contributing to the development of ecosystem partnerships (GSB, regional partners, impact networks) and helping design new collaboration formats
Supporting the preparation of the Annual Impact Report and other strategic communications as the evidence base matures
Exploring SVI/Social Value International accreditation pathways and preparing groundwork for the Foundation’s longer-term certification goals
Contributing to strategic planning and preparing analytical materials for the Foundation’s annual roadmap and Board of Directors reporting

Desired Academic Programme(s):

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Management or related fields.

Desired Skills:

Strong analytical thinking and intellectual curiosity: ability to research, synthesise and apply complex methodologies to real-world projects
Familiarity with social impact measurement concepts (SROI, Theory of Change, outcome mapping or similar); practical experience is a plus but not required – genuine interest and willingness to develop expertise matters more
Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex analytical findings to diverse audiences (management, grantees, partners)
Experience in ecosystem development, partnership building or stakeholder engagement in a university, foundation or NGO context is highly preferred
Knowledge of SVI/Social Value International frameworks or prior exposure to impact accreditation processes is a strong advantage; readiness to pursue SROI/SVI certification is expected
Experience with data tools (Excel, survey platforms, basic statistical analysis); familiarity with grant monitoring systems is an advantage
Background in research, social science, economics or public policy with applied analytical experience is a strong advantage; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Management or related fields
Kazakh, Russian, English (Upper-Intermediate+); genuine intellectual interest in social value and impact measurement is essential – this role requires both the curiosity to learn and the discipline to build something from scratch

Job Description:

As a Project Manager at the Department of Social Projects, NU Impact Foundation, you will drive the end-to-end execution of the Foundation’s grant programs and community initiatives – from idea and launch through to delivery, reporting and sustainability.

This role is for someone who gets things done: you will own the operational management of active projects, coordinate with grantees and partners, ensure on-time delivery of results, and build the structures that keep the portfolio running smoothly and efficiently.
