NU Club Performers
NU Orchestra
Founded in 2015 and with a deep history, the NU Orchestra brings together national art and contemporary art, while delighting the NU community with one of its largest concerts of the year at the University. Musicians of the orchestra perform pieces of national art, as well as world hits on national instruments, promoting Kazakh culture.
“When talented people gather, wonders will take place”, the spirit and idea of our community can be conveyed by this famous phrase of our club.
NU Dance Club
Since 2010, the NU Dance Club (NUDC) has represented NU on national and international stages, winning championships such as Blaze Fest and Almaty Dance Fest. In 2024, NUDC made history by hosting the World of Dance championship in Kazakhstan. Beyond competitions, NUDC organizes campus events like BILE and NU Dance Cup, and fosters self-expression through workshops and showcases, creating a vibrant community for dance at NU.
NU Choir
We are NU Choir – a performing arts club that’s been inspiring audiences for over 13 years, not just at concerts, but in everything we do! Our goal isn’t just to organise fun events with choral performances, but also foster a community built on trust, respect, and friendship. We are dedicated to staying true to what we truly love, meeting like-minded people, and exploring ourselves along the way. At our concerts, we manifest our ideas and messages through beautifully harmonised songs that tell stories and evoke a wide range of emotions.
NU YBS KPop Cover Dance Club
NU Decides
NU Decides is the official interschool song contest of Nazarbayev University, where six schools compete in a vibrant musical show. Each school selects a representative to participate in the healthy competition for the title of “Best Singer School.” What makes this event unique is its transparency and spirit of student involvement — it is students who decide the winner. From auditions to the Grand Finale, the NU Decides Organizing Committee handles every step: stage design, rehearsals, promotion, and vote collection. For the past two years, the Grand Finale has been proudly held in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Kazakhstan, whose support has helped to increase the scale and cultural reach of the event. NU Vocal Club
Founded in 2012, the NU Vocal Club has been the voice of Nazarbayev University, uniting passionate singers and music lovers. Each year, the club organizes grand concerts that have become signature events of campus life, filling the stage with talent and emotion. Beyond performances, the NU Vocal Club actively contributes to charity through benefit concerts, using music as a way to give back to the community. The club also organizes its iconic Mic On events, where anyone can step on stage and share their voice, creating a space for self-expression and confidence. With a spirit of creativity and unity, the NU Vocal Club continues to inspire, empower, and connect the NU community through music.
NU Kiye Qazaq Dance Club
Since our establishment in 2023, Kiye QAZAQ dance club has taken its very first but powerful steps in bringing Kazakh culture to life through movement and storytelling. Our biggest milestone so far has been the creation of “Kiye Kyz” — a performance born from the small dream of just two people, which blossomed into a deeply moving and unforgettable story. Through this work, we showed that while the Kazakh girl is soft, gentle, and graceful, she also carries within her incredible bravery and strength. The journey to bring “Kiye Kyz” to the stage was not easy, but it united us, inspired us, and proved that even the simplest dream can grow into something truly heartwarming when shared with the right people.
