Supported projects and types of funding

Social projects

A set of measures that allow to achieve positive changes in the life of a specific target group or society, limited by time and budget, and has no profit purpose.

Social entrepreneurship projects

Projects that offer innovative solutions to social problems on terms of self-sufficiency and sustainability.

Social impact Business has a social mission and solves the problem of a specific target group - children, the elderly, the disabled, or society as a whole by solving issues in the field of ecology, education, and health

Self-sufficiency Ability to cover the costs by selling products or providing services

Entrepreneurial approach Using business tools to solve social problems - marketing, sales, business and public communications

Innovation Creation and application of new or modernized of existing methods, techniques, approaches, tools in solving social problems, new forms of organization and cooperation, novelty of the way of thinking, values and beliefs

Financial stability Existence of multiple sources of income. Reinvestment of more than 50% of net profit in a social enterprise or social mission

Replicability Ability and willingness to replicate the proposed solution

Who can participate

1. Teams where the leaders-applicants are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan from among:

Beneficiary groups for social entrepreneurship projects

Beneficiaries must be one or more of the following categories of citizens:

Rural youth

NEET youth (not in Education, Employment or Training)

Low-income, large or single-parent families, as well as mothers with many children

Pupils of children's villages and graduates of orphanages up to twenty-nine years

People with disabilities and/or additional needs

Parents and other legal representatives living with people with disabilities and/or additional needs

Qandas

Pensioners and unemployed of pre-retirement age

Directions of supported social entrepreneurship projects:

Production and sale of goods/performance of works/provision of services designed to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries and create equal conditions for them with other citizens. The involvement of the beneficiaries themselves in this activity is welcome

Condition: The financial result of the project must be at least 50% of the total income of the enterprise, while at least 50% of the net income must be directed to the further development of the project

Employment of persons from the categories of beneficiaries

Condition: 50% of the total number of employees, 25% of the payroll

Idea Grant

Designed to identify the viability of an idea (social and business component) through research, experiment, MVP, pilot, or other necessary activities.

Start Grant

Designed to start the implementation of the project (availability of a prototype / testing an idea / market research / mvp is mandatory).

If you have already taken the first steps to implement the project, apply for a Start Grant!

Impulse Grant

for those who want to increase the social impact of the business or to expand the existing impact of the enterprise.

If you are already an social entrepreneur and want to expand your business, or you have a business and you want to focus it on improving the lives of others, fill out an Impulse Grant application.

Jas Camp

Stages for Start and Impulse Grants

JAS Camp is an obligatory stage of the competition for obtaining skills and knowledge for the successful implementation of the project.

JAS Camp consists of the following components:

If you have participated in and successfully completed any business incubator/accelerator with a similar project idea in the past 2 years, participation in the JAS Camp incubator/accelerator program is not required.

At the same time, attending the JAS Camp module on social entrepreneurship and passing the team assessment, which will take place on the 9-10th week of training, is a mandatory stage of the competition.

If you wish to skip the Incubator/Accelerator Program of the JAS Camp, please attach to your application:

Application deadline and format

Applications can be sent to the Fund throughout 2022. At the same time, applications will be reviewed at least twice a year.

To have time to take part in the first consideration, you must submit an application before 14:00 on May 31, 2022

*The Fund reserves the right to reject an application at any stage of the competition without giving reasons
